Covid-19 Media Dashboard
In collaboration with the Internet Archive's Television News Archive, the Media-Data Research Consortium (M-DRC)'s Google Cloud COVID-19 Research Grant "Quantifying the COVID-19 Public Health Media Narrative Through TV & Radio News Analysis" and GDELT's worldwide online news monitoring, the dashboard below tracks global online and selected television news coverage of Covid-19 . This dashboard is updated hourly. Above each display is a link to a live interactive dashboard containing that display that allows you to zoom into different time periods, see example coverage and adjust the underlying query or try entirely new queries.
Permission is granted to use all graphs and data on this dashboard. When using the National TV and Network TV graphs and data, please cite as "Data from the Internet Archive's Television News Archive processed by the GDELT Project." When using the "Online News" graphs and data, please cite as "Data from the GDELT Project."

NOTE that the presence of a location or article on this map does not indicate that there are cases at that location, only that that location was mentioned in an article in close proximity to a mention of the pandemic. Locations are algorithmically identified and there will undoubtedly be errors in the map below.
